Player Notes Pros

  • Great burst to play over the top in vertical responsibility also possesses needed range

  • Quickness to serve as a single high safety & prowl in C-1 as the deep defender

  • Like his finishing skills, nice wingspan & grip strength to wrap up, roll & finish tackles

  • Uses the sideline well, isn't passive when he's on an island as the last line of defense

  • Showed good hand eye coordination to reach to ball when it flashed late in his area

  • Strong both attacking bodies at the catch point & also finishing as a tackler

  • Hustle is good, flies up into the action in quick game or to outside when runs pop off

  • Ability to transition in off coverage man to man & click or close is excellent

  • Versatility & experience as a former cornerback will serve him well at next level

  • As press nickel, physical, long & comfortable enough to disrupt route releases & timing

  • Think there's enough here to really mold him into a 3-down defender at the next level

  • Strong tackling, man coverage experience & ceiling for improvement at safety position

  • Enough man to man ability as former CB to stay on the field in sub package situations

Player Notes Cons

  • Irregular technique, mainly because he recently transitioned to safety from cornerback

  • Struggled to mirror eyes of QBs with anticipation, was often late working into position

  • Issues with poor angles to WRs downfield, timing arrival at catch point wasn't consistent

  • Anticipation & feel for tracking the ball as free defender is still a work in progress

  • Lacks dynamic hinge or ability to throw open hips & attack targets in peripheral range

  • Will need patience as he continues to acclimate to playing deeper portions of the field
