Player Notes Pros

  • Impressive functional strength for his size, plenty of reps where he stuns blockers

  • Very good at anchoring at the point of attack against much larger opponents

  • Blends that play strength with good pursuit effort, lined up all over the D-line

  • Once he gets out of his stance, he can cover ground & challenge offensive tackles

  • Loves to dip & rip also converts speed to power well, has great burst & agility

  • Has really good length & he generally does a good job of playing with extension

  • Has the ideal size, speed, power combination to play defensive end at the next level

  • When he times the snap right, he can truly fly off the ball and into the backfield

  • One of the strongest DE's in the class, but also has an element of speed rush to him

  • Power in his lower body gives way to a fast first step. Very strong against the run also

  • He aligns on the edge or as an inside rusher in sub, In the passing game he is great

  • He also shows very good “get off” and excellent closing quickness to get to the QB

  • He appears to be athletic enough to rush and drop from an up or down position

  • Swivel in his hips on the edge, which suggests production as pass rusher will increase

  • In the run game he is very effective, he projects with very good ability to set the edge

Player Notes Cons

  • Can be painfully slow to release out of his stance, extremely tight in his lowers

  • Too many reps where lack of awareness in terms of what's going on around him

  • Has to develop vision and processing speed to play faster & maximize athletic ability

  • Needs to work on & get to counters/ancillary rush moves quicker in his rush

  • Overall, his pass rush plan needs to be developed & deployed more effectively

  • Has to do better job keeping pad level down, labored mover with slow lateral mobility

  • Has no consistency with his stance which most certainly impacts his get off ability
