Player Notes Pros

  • Gordon has a strong arm, and his strength shows up in both distance and velocity

  • If you open up a window to let him go vertical, he's going to find it and hit it

  • Able to throw from varied slots & release points, throws accurately & with needed touch

  • Like his manipulation on half field reads vs. deep safeties and finding holes vs Cover 2

  • Throws receivers away from leveraged defenders to lead away from contested targets

  • He's pretty fearless under pressure rather than wanting to avoid taking sacks

  • Peripheral vision is strong and senses oncoming defenders uncovering off the edge

  • Slides laterally to buy himself extra time before flushing & rolling away from pressure

  • Natural thrower, adjusts release to cater to touch, velocity or throwing around traffic

  • Demonstrates nuances playing the position & does a good job manipulating defenders

  • Has a great release which allows him to get the ball out of his hands quickly

  • Throws a nice ball in short to intermediate range & good accuracy on deep throws

Player Notes Cons

  • Lack of any real pressure in his face has formed some lazy tendencies with his footwork

  • Will get too keyed into his initial read and guide defenders in coverage to the throw

  • Processing speed isn't where you'd like it to be, reluctance to work quickly through reads

  • Only a one year starter, Gordon needs patience and development to master timing

  • Product of the air raid system, arm strength only sufficient, too many ill advised throws
